It was suggested that we make it a little more interesting by subliminaly having a dig at other companies and using their slogans against them.

Competitors

Powerade is a sports drink manufactured and marketed by The Coca-Cola Company same as feelgood but we want them to want our drink more. First introduced in 1988, its primary competitor is PepsiCo's Gatorade. As of December 2008[update], Powerade has grown to take 21.7 percent of the United States market in its category, compared to Gatorade's 77.2 percent.

The slogan "Lucozade aids recovery" was replaced by "Lucozade replaces lost energy", and the ad campaign featured the world and Olympic champion decathlete Daley Thompson with a soundtrack of the Iron Maiden song Phantom of the Opera. The original packaging was changed to polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottling. The effect of the rebranding was dramatic: between 1984 and 1989, the value of UK sales of the drink tripled to almost $115 million[citation needed].

One litre of Lucozade Energy contains 700 kCal and is 0.01% ethanol, which kept observant Muslims from being allowed to drink it until, in 2004, the Muslim Law Council decreed no one would be committing a religious crime if they drank it.One bottle (500ml) of Lucozade Original typically contains 21 teaspoons of sugar (85g), which has led to media criticism regarding the public's health.



Lucozade Sport is the official drink of the FA and the FA Premier League. Lucozade Sport Football also has partnerships with three of the top Premier League clubs, Manchester United FC, Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC. Red Bull is the most popular energy drink in the world, according to market share.Red Bull's slogan is "it gives you wiiings" and the product is aggressively marketed through advertising, tournament sponsorship (Red Bull Air Race), sports team ownerships and celebrity endorsements. In 2009 it was discovered that Red Bull Cola exported from Austria contained trace amounts of cocaine.[2][3][4][5][6] Red Bull has also been the target of criticism concerning the possible health risks associated with the drink. in all it is an alco mixer.



I found this and I just laughed.

Campains

Although there are quite interesting campains, it doesn't stop them from the fact of being awful like the one below, this is something we will be clearly avoiding in our campain.

as well as this, it looks like something that ought to be drang when you are on a double date with mogley and tarzan.


The ones below are clearly sex appeal and driven hence thats why you should drink it. We want to avoid these subliminal messages .


Now these ad campains are really good and is the area we are targeting. I love how it gives an every day life appeal and isn't targeted at muscle men.


Again this is set to our target audience, average people in every day life, who want the motivation to be much more active.


This is my least favorite of the campain bit still owrks very well, as it is stating there are two people in your life who you are and what you want. our campain is going to be taking the campain to a novice level of which we focus on selling the drink as a motivational oppourtunity to go and do something active, have a kick around with your firends, go for a fun jog have a cycle race.


Interesting again, this market would make you stop drinking one drink and eant to drink something else. what ever else was advertised as an alternative?


Type research

Feel good drinks needed a new typeface which complimented the new logo we have began to design in our campain to re release feel good drinks as feel good juices in a sports enviroment. First of all we wanted to find an appropriate typeface to use which was jolty and motivating, an active typeface.






Tomorow Anna and I are going to discuss these typefaces and incorporate them into some of our designs to see wether or not they send an appropriate message that ties in with our motivational advertising for the drink.

Sports to sponser the drink

As we are going to be rebranding the feelgood drink into a motivating sports drink, we wanted to replace the character Feelix with a new brand, we thought about using a sports player which was relevant and you did not need facilities to use it. Below are a few sports we have been looking at and evaluating

Cricket, you need the equipment and a feild in order for it to work, and you need more than one player in all honesty.


The same with boxing, all though violence and aggresion is in this sport, and we are not sure if that is the message/ audience we would like to be targeting.



Skaters are a bit extreme, not everyone can do it.



as with ice skating, you need ice.



Mountain biking is a good one, that we will take into consideration as it is fun healthy and plausable.


avoiding trials, cross country and mountains of course.


Rugby is a traditional English sport which is carried out and is very fun. But a lot of people are scared of getting hurt.

Football is a key element to our drink as all you need is a ball for a kick around.







And everyone loves it.



same with basketball, you only need a net or just a floor to play, and you burn hundreads of calories just by and hours playing.








We will be avoiding the crazy air though.



Jogging/ running is also something which is a brilliant source for everyone who wants to feel good and healthy and is something everyone does.

This sports drink is communicating a brainwave and different things that you can do after you drink it, its based around creativity and action.



This next advert for lucozade promotes mod. who appear to be a big gang at the start but in reality it promotes adventure and experience that you would get when you drink their drink and it makes you do things that you wouldn't averagely do, with a hint of humour



Powerades campaign is based around ability and gives the impression that when you drink it you can actively be better than any other athlete. It is for a more serious tone of audience.



I think with feel good we want to produce something which is more self motivated for people to go out and be healthy and feel good about their selfs and make the world shine.
