I have collected a number of NBA players faces off of the ESPN website and have thought about incorporating them in the video a bit like guess who. Here are a few images of the players 'Passport photo's'

Type

I found this type face and thought it was perfect for my movie as it added a strong sporty effect and really shouted basketball.

Espn

From researching some ESPN magazines I found this Image which inspired the introduction to my video in which a basket baller jumps up to the ESPN logo and dunks it with the circle ESPN logo Incorporated also.

The idea is that the player jumps up and knocks off the lower characters of the S and P then the ball falls down and shoots up to the center screen then to the left and presents comes up in the middle of the page.

Inspiration

During this video I have been looking for lots of images/ videos to keep me inspired and productive in designing a successful introduction, My main problem was that I did not have a specific channel therefore my target audience was a bit limited. With a lot of thought and consideration I chose to produce a Top ten for the ESPN channel.

ESPN (originally an abbreviation for the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network) is an American cable television network dedicated to broadcasting and producing sports-related programming 24 hours a day. From this I have obviously selected the NBA networking of the channel and have decided to produce some work towards 2010's Allstar games.

Some moves

Here are a few images of different basket ball moves that I found online which I would like to use for my experimentation on the project matter.

Sin city

Sin City includes an interesting concept where the whole film is in black and white bar from the descriptive simle's and metaphors of a certain persons or objects feature i.e. Long blonde hair like the sun in a bed as red as blood.

I'd like my colour scheme to be like this for my video. black white and red and blue.

Urban

This is some imagery of what I'd like my video to look a bit like when it comes down to detail of the players. And spray paint etc

I think this approach to the drawings would look amazing with the right backing track.

Branding

I have chosen sky one HD as my channel as it is very sporty and shows basketball re-runs late night and sometimes live matches if it's in season. I have checked out a few I dents also which seem pretty cool and self explanatory.

As I am looking into using sky one as my channel. I decided to look at some of the i dents that they have created for the channel. Most of these I dents are quite technical and graphics based. or vector I thought that maybe this is not the channel that would best fit my introduction..

Within the rest of my research I have been looking at a lot of grunge and hip hop to best associate to my basketball audience. I believe hip hop is best associated with basketball due to its fame on the streets, Here are a few tracks I have been looking at using with my video.

Music track

I really want to incorporate a Travis Barker drum mix with a hip hop track due to the fact that Travis makes all the drums in hip hop really stand out and seem greater than the average bass bass bass bass. I am looking at using dope boys as the films music as it has an interesting music note which would go with my theme and the video that I have been preparing to produce

research

I like how the camera view is used in this i dent to switch from one basket to the other where there are basketball players.

I think that the way the swirls are used are very interesting, I think that this is a cool way of thinking and would like to try a few drawings of it myself.

Not really much to do with what I am looking at in this moment of time but I found this quite funny and entertaining.

I found this very cool and thought it was an interesting way to present competition between two players and their goals.

This is the main source of inspiration any video is ever going to give me, I want to incorporate as much as this in my project as I can but with the relation being towards basketball. I have a lot of ideas I would like to experiment with, whilst using aftereffects after a lot of hand drawn primary research.

I love how one player passes the ball off camera and then another player catches it. The frame manipulation in this makes it seem complex all though it is simple and really effective.

I thought this was quite funny and maybe a few ideas of moves to incorporate?

This is all about tone and made me realize I need to think about how I want to introduce a top ten, formal or funny. serious or shy! I need to answer the question What is Basketball?

I thought this was wicked for how the graphics have been done, and maybe I could experiment with this approach with my drawings and story boarding.

I love the fact the screen shots in the first 15 seconds are like a roller coaster or round about, very glitchy and offbeat, i'd like to give a similar effect.
